The REASON for your SEASON
I spent the last two weeks in 2021 in Liberia. There, I was invited to share few inspirations with hundreds of young people at the Harvest Camp Buchanan 2021 in Grand Bassa, Liberia. At that event I realized that everything in life actually happens for a REASON within a particular SEASON. If you don’t know and understand the REASON, it becomes difficult to cope with the SEASON. When I cracked TheEmpowermentCODE in Buduburam, I found out that the REASON for my SEASON of frustration and hopelessness in a refugee camp was only to prepare me to someday provide HOPE (to Help Other People Excel) in my generation. And that’s how I was able to COPE with the situation by faith and by working towards my dream.
Today, I wanna encourage someone to keep WORKING smart and PRAYING more. Listen, you have every reason to expect the best from God when you PRAY; but you must also be willing to demand the best from yourself when you WORK. In fact, the BEST you’ve ever done in life is just the LEAST God expects from you! Some people keep praying because they don’t want to WORK; some people keep working because they don’t care to PRAY. You actually need a BALANCE. True fulfillment lies in the balance between making things happen (WORKING) and letting things happen (PRAYING) – it’s like planting your seed and letting it grow; it’s a balance between doing your BEST and allowing God to do the REST. TRUTH for the YOUTH
I had another great opportunity to encourage some Liberian youths at the GROW Conference held in the capital city of Monrovia on 23rd December, 2021. At that event I realized that creating the kind of SOCIETY we all desire is everyone’s RESPONSIBILITY. What’s the point in trying to prepare the FUTURE for the next generation if we cannot equally prepare the Next Generation for the FUTURE we desire? Think about it. There’s a Yoruba Proverb which says, “The child we didn’t build is the one that will sell the house that we built at a great cost.” If the YOUTH cannot be told the TRUTH today, the future of our society is in some serious trouble.
As we end the year 2021 today, I wanna challenge you to consider this TRUTH: If you cannot pay the price to WIN in 2022, you will definitely pay the price by LOOSING terribly. Why do you allow your EXCUSES to keep seducing you? Why do you keep allowing your FEAR to continue deceiving you? Why are you permitting your DOUBTS to keep stealing from you everyday? You keep living the same day thousand times and you call that a life? I challenge you to step out of your comfort zone in 2022 to give more of yourself to your community than you’ve ever done before. Listen, when you die, only your bank will remember how much you were able to actually SAVE, but your community will always remember how much you truly GAVE to the world. Think about it!
DECISION changes CONDITION
On 23rd October, 2021, I was invited to INSPIRE the young people of Philadelphia Church, Buduburam, during their Youth Week Celebration. It was an emotional experience reminiscing how my friend and I started our Youth Empowerment journey at the refugee camp in 2006.
That DECISION we made at that time to start empowering young people absolutely changed our CONDITION. Today, I just wanna remind you that it will be a great shame to DIE in the same conditions in which you were BORN.
For example, if you came from a POOR_family that’s not a problem; your purpose in life is to make sure that before you die, a RICH_family will come from you. You may have ENTERED the world poor and frustrated, but your mission is to EXIT the world rich and fulfilled. The truth is, you were born as an INDIVIDUAL but if you make the right decisions in life, you can die as an INSTITUTION. Think about this!
