The HOPE Campaign®
Over the last five (5) years, all of Emmanuel Cisco’s project activities in Ghana have been hinged on the HOPE Campaign®. The HOPE Campaign® is a life-changing national Youth Empowerment Campaign initiated and launched on 31st October, 2015 at Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) in Accra by Youth Empowerment for Progress (YEP), a vibrant human resource and capacity building organization co-founded by Cisco with the vision “to create a human society in which the youths are functional and matter in the day-to-day running of the affairs of the society at large.” The HOPE Campaign®, which basically runs on the principle of Helping Other People Excel, was designed to achieve a specific goal of inspiring and empowering at least 10,000 young people across Ghana by 31st December, 2020. The campaign actually targets deprived young people across Ghana with a focus to significantly inspire and empower them to aspire for greater dreams and influence other young people to excel in their respective endeavors.
OUR TEAM
The HOPE Campaign Team strongly believes that Life is the greatest opportunity, and all of us with the ability to do something significant must remember that we have the responsibility to give back to society. The Team comprises 30 young people from various professional backgrounds from 8 African countries (including Nigeria, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Liberia, Togo, Sierra Leone, Cameroon and Central African Republic) who have, one way or the other, experienced and survived real suffering and struggles in life and are currently excelling in their studies, businesses and careers.
WHY 'HOPE'
It all started as a simple message of inspiration in the heart of one person. Now, it has developed into a shared mission of an entire team. Today it is being run in Ghana as a serious Campaign; tomorrow it would certainly spread across the African continent and HOPE-fully across the world as a strong Movement to empower millions of deprived youths.
In the midst of all the difficulties and frustrations we face today, it is still deeply rooted in our hearts that hope is all we actually need to cope in life. The wise people have said, “A person can live 40 days without food, 4 days without water, 4 minutes without air, but only 4 seconds without HOPE.” It simply means HOPE is needed most for human survival than food, water and air. So, whenever you’re going through a challenging and painful experience, HOPE will always be there to remind you, “Hold On Pains End”.
Barack Obama said it right, “The best way to not feel hopeless is to get up and do something. Don’t wait for good things to happen to you. If you go out and make some good things happen, you will fill the world with hope, you will fill yourself with hope.“ And we believe that the best way to make good things happen, to fill the world with hope and to fill yourself with HOPE is to start Helping Other People Excel.
When we say Africa will someday rise and take its rightful place in the world, you may say we’re only dreamers. But are we the only people HOPE-ing for that day? We only hope that you too can start reflecting on this great possibility ahead of us and join us now in making it happen. Always remember that everything you’re trying to do for yourself today will be past and gone when you are gone, but the things you do for others will last and remain as your legacy. So, let’s start Helping Other People Excel now for a better Africa and for a better future!
